I was shocked when I found out that In Western Society, People are kicked out of their own homes when they turn 18.

Well, not kicked out but it's a norm, that young adults choose to move out. It may not sound strange now, but when people are 18 in Asisan society they are still treated as 12 years old, by their parents. I still remember, when I was 18 I went to a doctor with my dad and he said my age is 12 years old.

The next year, I moved out as soon as I completed high school because I watched a lot of Western motivation that made me feel. If I stayed under this roof I would never grow up and soon become 25 years old infant.

So You Should Live with Your Parents or Not

In Asian culture, the thing is you only move out when you have to go to college.

Moving out on your own is not a thing, and nobody is obsessed about it. People live with their parents and in the same house until the family becomes so big that theirs no way so many people can fit in the same house then they buy or rent a separate place.

The pressure to move out is real!

In Western society, people are expected to move out when they turn 18 and pay their bills by working themself. That is something very alienated in the land of Asian people.

Benefits of living with your parents.

People do highlight the benefits of moving out to grow as a person, but everything in the world has its advantages and disadvantages.

You may get to be independent and grow up by being on your own but living with your parents will teach you far more than you can realize.

  • You get to live with people who will provide you with emotional support and offer a sense of security and belongingness.
  • Living with your parents will teach you to share responsibility, in a way that no one can teach you.
  • It helps to strengthen cultural ties and gives you a sense of identity and purpose.

And even people do live with their parents after their marriage in most of the cases.

Do you live with your parents?
